28 January 2018 - Some peeps are grumpy before their first cup of coffee.  The shorter peep and I can't function effectively until we have had our breakfast.  Some mornings I spend fifteen minutes, or more, reminding her of this fact, that she needs to rise and feed the engine (hers and mine).  There is a long stretch overnight of no caloric intake, and although sleep doesn't appear to expend many calories, the mere functioning of the body, and additionally on chilly nights keeping warm,  uses up reserves.  So yes, she and I are hungry in the morning:  don't come between me and my saucer of chow.
