don't mind the gape

Shamus on view

Me-usings and Me-emories

2 June 2021 - I will never claim to have a hard-scrabble life... long hours, many responsibilities, but certainly all within my abilities.  There are many of my kind, and undoubtedly many peeps, for whom hunger is the usual state.  Sadly that bromide about cleaning your plate does nothing to alleviate their woes, but justly reminds the lucky one of his good fortune.  What is to be done about inequities?  I am only a youngster with no world experience, so I have no answers.  I do know first-paw that kindness is a gift to those who have known rejection and misery.  To treat your fellow beings as you would wish for yourself, if the situation was reversed, should be our mantra.
