4 Aug 2023 - The taller peep has been busy of late with this extension into the lake. I am not certain of its purpose, but I do hope that it isn't viewed as a welcome mat by those interlopers arriving by water. At least I can keep watch over its usage... and from a safe, elevated position (allowing sufficient time to skedaddle if necessary). From time to time I observe strange peeps cavorting up and down the lake: their noises suggest that these water antics are quite fun... but I have no intention of joining them.

yeah, it looks like an interloper welcome mat to me.....I'd keep a wary, beady eye on it...from one of your safe spots (partly hidden behind something sturdy)
