2 Aug 2023 - Well, after yesterday's misadventure (the taller peep's has dubbed it "the great escape"), I have been very chill. I suspect my mood is akin to one who has had a close call, a pas de deux with calamity. Being reminded of one's mortality is a completely different experience from contemplating it while bathing or standing sentry. I'm sure my boisterous self will bounce back soon enough... even now my gait from getting here to there is a gallop, so I shan't worry about my damaged psyche. It is, after all, nigh impossible to sink a cat's ego.

Archy seemed to have 10x the zeal for roaring around the house after he fell in the pool (and after he got himself dried off)...there is clearly something to be said for appreciation of the status quo
