6 October 2014 - This scene is several levels of domestication removed from the panther drinking water from a woodland stream.  But don't for a moment think that I am nostalgic for the past.  The great outdoors is quite messy, and my fastidiousness would be sorely taxed by damp sand, rotting wood, and spider webs.  Meals are far from regular out there, and more worrisome is keeping oneself off a predator's menu.  Not even my Florida cousin, bigger and more camouflaged than I for scrub grass reconnaissance, is managing to eke out much of an existence.  I do not mind admitting the easy life's for me.
