funny business

12 Dec 2025 - A cat in the bush?  Hardly... I've investigated this bit of greenery and it doesn't smell of the wild outdoors, although its looks are trying to convince otherwise.  I have limited experience "out there", and mostly the events were scary and I was very relieved when they were over.  But even while frightened, my senses continued to perceive my surroundings, so I can say with confidence that the interlopers have not dragged their environment into our domicile... 'cause I would know the real thing.

11 Dec 2025 - Can you abide another picture of me resting?  When the air is nippy, you can expect to find my limbs tucked beneath my body in an attempt to stay warm.  Once that has been realized, I will quickly make my rounds (and then return for a recharge of heat).  Since I refuse to wear booties and a sweater, this regimen is necessary... and is one of the reasons why I prefer the freedom of hot weather, when I can romp and stay on my personal screened porch forever if I so wish.  Alas, without Mr. Sol's help my personal screened porch is not very inviting.

faint of heart

10 Dec 2025 - With all the changes to our domicile and then my peeps' multi-day disappearance, I have been much in need of personal time.  Anxiety keeps me ramped up and the result is an exhausted body.  But this cold weather has discouraged interloper activity, so I can actually take a nap without risking an invasion.  I snooze for a bit, check with one eye my surroundings, and then drift back to sleep.  Another day or so of this relaxed schedule, and I should be back to my old self, the one who doesn't skedaddle when he sees his shadow.

disquiet

9 Dec 2025 - Yes, I dropped off the radar screen the past few days... which isn't to say that I wasn't actively searching for my two peeps.  They did another disappearing act, and have only last night found their way home.  Again a strange peep attended to my kibble saucer and water bowl, but I didn't get close enough for her to attempt any grooming.  She seems nice enough, but she is still an intruder in my mind.  I am very pleased to say that there have been several brushing sessions since my peeps' return, however any sudden movement or sound ruffles my composure.

3 Dec 2025 - The big-nosed fella behind me has arrived, one of the shorter peep's "changes".  It is not his first appearance, so I know that he can be ignored, walked around even.  Mainly I am relieved, despite his proximity to one of that peep's favorite pieces of furniture, that he shows no interest in claiming her lap... that would not be tolerated.  Disruptions to my routine, although not welcomed, are more easily handled if there is a continuation of head pats, chin chucks, and daily brushings.

2 Dec 2025 - As you can see, the shorter peep has been rearranging things.  I should know that these changes can be expected when the temperatures turn chilly, but I still don't like it.  However, on the bright side (and where is Mr. Sol??), my personal porch portal still works, i.e., has not been decorated or otherwise made unwelcoming... which means that I can continue to walk my beat, bad news for the local interlopers.  With all these extra trimmings, there are more places for those pests to hide, so I shall remain busy... with less time to grouse.

1 Dec 2025 - I truly don't know one day from the next, but I am impressed when a peep shows up for work on a Monday (and it's still morning).  But things need to be done, and why not now?  So I offer my support (and take the offer of a lap), hopefully bringing cheer to any onerous task.  We are a good team:  few words need to be expressed, yet we ease into a comfortable place... it might be difficult to keep my eyes focused  (And those with keen sight might notice a familiar shape in the photograph's corner.)
