12 October 2020 - Monday morning, a good day to check on the office staff! At this time of day I only found the shorter peep at her desk, but the other chair is still dented from the taller peep's late-night slaving. No one likes a micro-manager, so I keep my touch light and my voice pleasant. Really I just try to instill camaraderie in the employees, as mutiny rises from a sense of inadequate appreciation and under-compensation. And without an opposable thumb, I am beholden to my peeps for many things that make my life enjoyable. Obviously I can manage my own survival (and did for many months before arriving here), but who just wants to survive? That idea attracts as many devotees as the suggestion that we starve ourselves in order to live an additional six months. Besides, my contract spells out an expectation of nine lives.
